About Susan
Hello! I am Susan Arnowitz, a licensed Clinical Psychologist and mindfulness meditation educator with over 20+ years of clinical experience. Currently licensed in NY and FL, I see clients in person at my Roslyn (Long Island) and NYC offices and offer telehealth services in PSYPACT participating states.
My practice is focused on individualized treatment for adolescents and adults of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and loss; or struggling with life transitions, career concerns, and relationship issues; or wanting help with a problematic behavior or just feeling stuck. My goal is to help my clients create meaningful, lasting change in a thoughtful, warm, and compassionate environment.
I earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at St. John’s University and completed a clinical internship at South Oaks Hospital in Amityville, NY. I am a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, completing a 2-year training program sponsored by Sounds True and The Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkley. In addition, I have engaged in intensive training in various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. All this allows me to provide a customized approach that best meets the needs of the individuals I work with.
If you are struggling and need a safe space to talk, know that I am here to listen. My approach is integrative, personalized, and collaborative. Together, we will work towards healing and growth, one step at a time. Thank you for considering me to be a part of your journey.
